September 17-20, 2008, NYSBA’s International Law and Practice Section (ILPS) Seasonal Meeting entitled “Globalization: Harmonization of Laws - Is It Real?” took place in Stockholm, Sweden.

NYSBA is the official organization of lawyers in the State of New York, and with more than 72,000 members, it is the largest voluntary bar organization in the United States. The ILPS is one of the most active sections of the NYSBA, with over 2,000 members throughout the United States and in many foreign countries and with chapter chairs in numerous cities worldwide. Members are primarily professionals practicing law at major international law firms or corporations with a global reach.

This year the meeting was attended by a high-profile group of ~ 300 leading international lawyers, scholars, and government representatives from USA, Sweden, France, England and many other countries.

Dr. Tatyana Slipachuk, Head of Vasil Kisil & Partners’ International Arbitration Practice was one of the main presenters on the topic of “Recent Development in International Arbitration: What Practitioners Everywhere Need to Know” that was open for public discussion as part of the Litigation/Arbitration section of the conference.
