Vasil Kisil & Partners' Partner Oleg Alyoshin addressing Ukraine's legislative readiness to operate in post-WTO environment at an invitation-only conference in London

On May 14, 2008, in the run-up to Ukraine's long-awaited accession to the World Trade Organization on May 16, 2008, Vasil Kisil & Partners' Oleg Alyoshin presented at an invitation-only conference organized by Bryan Cave and the Ukrainian-British City Club in London. 
 
This high-profile gathering featured a panel of top-level government officials and specialists on the topic. Distinguished speakers included Valeriy Pyatnytskiy, deputy minister of economy of Ukraine and Ukraine's lead negotiator during the WTO accession talks; John Cooke, chairman of the Liberalisation of Trade in Services (LOTIS) Committee; Mark Nguyen, senior advisor in Bryan Cave's International Trade Group, and Oleg Alyoshin, partner and head of International Trade and International Arbitration Practice at Vasil Kisil & Partners.

According to Mr. Alyoshin when the commitments of Ukraine with regard to the service market access would be fully implemented, the country is going to have one of the most liberal services markets in the region. Further on, Mr. Alyoshin touched upon some other important issues such as recent legislative changes and the specifics of national legislature in the area of trade investigations within the context of WTO accession.
