On June 9, 2016 Andriy Stelmashchuk, Managing Partner of Vasil Kisil & Partners, was elected as the Chairman of the Selection Board for the post of the Head of the National Agency for Investigation, Detection and Management of Assets Derived from Corruption and Other Crimes.

This National Agency was instituted by the respective Law in November last year. According to the Law, the Agency will not only retain assets seized in criminal proceedings, but will also manage them and transfer them to third parties. The election of the National Agency’s Head will facilitate the beginning of the actual work of this newly instituted authority.

Mr Stelmashchuk often spoke about mechanisms for returning assets at press events and in interviews to mass media.

Andriy Stelmashchuk is the Managing Partner of Vasil Kisil & Partners, a member of the Board of the Ukrainian Bar Association (UBA) and a member of the High Audit Commission of the Bar of Ukraine.
