The Forum’s participants discussed the prospects of Ukrainian hotel business in the current global economic environment, the status of facilities for EURO 2012, requirements for joining the international hotel network, the development of hotel chains and effective hotel management.

Dr. Tetiana Slipachuk, Partner, and Natalia Mykolska, Senior Associate at Vasil Kisil & Partners, presented a report entitled “Endorsing Agreements with International Hotel Chains: the Perspective of a Legal Advisor”. In their report, which got a lot of attention of the Forum’s attendees, the lawyers shared their hotel transactional experience and gave a number of recommendations to the Ukrainian developers on dealings with international hotel chains. In particular, the speakers stressed the importance of preliminary negotiations on key issues of a hotel project and related matters (defining the project goal, conducting market research and due diligence, signing a letter of intent). They underlined that it was important to involve legal advisors during the negotiations and contract signing, as well as pointed out the main issues where legal advice is crucial.
