International Arbitration and UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules seminar

The International Arbitration and UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules Seminar was held in the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine on December 4, 2008. Vasil Kisil & Partners participated actively in arranging the seminar and preparing its program.
Mr. Oleg Alyoshin, Partner, and Mrs. Tatyana Slipachuk, Senior Counselor, reported on a number of relevant issues, including those related to specific features of arbitration procedure and risks of arbitrations under the UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules, comparative description of investment dispute arbitrations under the ICSID Rules and UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules and modern trends in development of the international arbitration theory and practice. Representatives of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, some governmental authorities and leading law firms in Kyiv were among those participating in the seminar. The discussion during the seminar covered such issues as related to the international commercial arbitration as well as problems and trends in development of the investment arbitration, including arbitration to be conducted under the UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules.
