Mykhailo Shchitka, Senior Associate at Vasil Kisil & Partners, is on the judge panel of the national round of the Telders International Law Moot Court Competition

On February 14, 2009, a round of oral arguments of the Telders International Law Moot Court Competition was held in the Higher Commercial Court of Ukraine. This year seven student teams from major institutes and universities of Ukraine participated in the national round.

The Telders International Law Moot Court Competition is a European competition with more than 20 teams from European countries participating on an annual basis. The final rounds of the competition are held on the premises of the UN International Court of Justice in the Hague, the Netherlands.

The competition is intended to give students practice in presenting a case in court, as well as to better educate them in such principles, as the rule of law and civil society.

One of the judges on the panel for the final round of the competition was Mykhailo Shchitka, Senior Associate at Vasil Kisil & Partners and a renowned expert in international law. Mr. Shchitka believes that this event will further enhance the development of international law in Ukraine and will promote the image of Ukraine as a lawful and democratic European country.
