Nataliya Mykolska Among the Panelists of the National Round of the ELSA Moot Court Competition

On February 27 – March 1, 2009, the National University of the State Tax Service of Ukraine (Irpen) hosted the Third National Round of the ELSA Moot Court Competition (EMCC) on WTO Law.

The ELSA Moot Court Competition was launched in April 2003. In Ukraine, this unique event was held for the third time. Semi-final and final rounds of the competition take place at the headquarters of the World Trade Organization in Geneva.

The event is intended to teach law students specializing in legal regulation of the world trade European high-quality skills and to enhance their professional knowledge, test their abilities to draft legal arguments, give oral presentations at trial and make public speeches.

The ELSA Moot Court Competition (EMCC) on WTO Law is a simulated hearing involving the participation of teams representing the claimant and respondent parties before the panel (experts in WTO law). Last year the panel of judges included major experts in international trade law, both practicing and academic lawyers.

Nataliya Mykolska, Senior Associate at Vasil Kisil & Partners and a renowned expert in International Trade Law, was part of the panel of judges of the final round.

Ms. Mykolska is a member of the International Distribution Institute and Ukrainian Bar Association. She is an active participant in the EBA Franchising Working Group and EBA ad hoc committee for the EU-Ukraine Free Trade Agreement. Natalia Mykolska has an extensive experience in working for public authorities and private companies in Ukraine, Germany and Canada. The Ukrainian Law Firms Handbook has more than once listed Ms. Mykolska among top experts in international trade.

Ms. Mykolska is the author of numerous publications on legal aspects of international trade, including contract law, franchise and agency relations, trade investigations, WTO and EU legislation.
