On February 11-13, the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce hosted a workshop on Practical Procedures in International Commercial Arbitration in Baku, Azerbaijan.
The event was intended to demonstrate the key principles and rules of presenting arbitration cases. During the practical sessions under the guidance of international arbitration experts the participants learnt the principles of drafting the main submissions (requests for arbitration, statement of defense, statement of claim, counterclaim). The practical sessions also included mock arbitration cases and oral arguments of the participating groups.
Tatyana Slipachuk, Partner of Vasil Kisil & Partners, acting as the group leader for the Respondent conducted a workshop on preparation and presentation of initial submissions to the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce. While delivering her lecture Ms. Slipachuk presented a report on Opening of the Proceedings by the Arbitral Tribunal.
