Vasil Kisil & Partners is a finalist of 2009 “Yuridicheskaya Premia” Legal Awards in more categories than any other law firm – 8 out of 20

On May 20, 2009, the first meeting of “Yuridicheskaya Premia- 2009” Legal Award Nominating Committee gathered in order to determine the finalists in each of the 22 categories. Each year the very best in legal profession are chosen based not on their ranks and titles, but first and foremost on the actual professional achievements. The growing interest in “Yuridicheskaya Premia” awards which are going to be awarded for the third time this year proves the validity of its results and serves as testimony to the fact that it becomes integrated in the marketing strategy of the law firms and the in-house legal departments.
This year the economic crises made a few amendments to the selection. After reviewing all the submissions and supporting documentation and due to insufficient and incomplete information the Nominating Committee decided not to award “Yuridicheskaya Premia- 2009” in the “Best legal department of a bank” and “Best legal department of an insurance company” categories. In the mean time, it was decided to create new categories, such as “Best lawyer in tax law” and “Law firm – discovery of the year”, which are going to be awarded starting next year.
After thorough deliberation and based on the approved selection criteria the Nominating Committee chose 3 finalist in each nomination through an open vote. Vasil Kisil & Partners are nominated in eight categories out of 20, which is a record a number of nominations that was not achieved by any other law firm:

Moreover, aside from the traditionally praised litigation team, this time VKP’s leadership is recognized in such up-and-coming areas of practice as real estate, intellectual property, M&A and competition law.
Prizewinners of “Yuridicheskaya Premia- 2009” Legal Award will be determined based on the results of a secret ballot. Their names shall not be disclosed until the Award Ceremony that is going to take place on June 5, 2009.
