April 3 through April 9 of 2009, the final rounds of the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot will be held in Vienna (Austria). Supported by the sponsorship of Vasil Kisil & Partners Law Firm, Law Faculty of the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy student team will be able to participate in this highly rated moot court competition.
Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot, one of the most prestigious moot court competitions annually held by the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL), takes place at the Law Faculty of the University of Vienna. The goal of the Vis Arbitral Moot is to foster the study of international commercial law and arbitration for resolution of international business disputes through its application to a concrete problem of a client and to train law leaders of tomorrow in methods of alternative dispute resolution.
This year more than 200 teams from law faculties of world’s most famous universities are going to participate in the competition. Hanna Vlasyuk, Myroslava Savchuk, Mykola Khomenko and Roman Makhynia, fifth-year students of the Law Faculty of the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, will have the honor to represent their alma mater.
Thanks to the support of Vasil Kisil & Partners, for two years in a row (2007 and 2008) students enjoy the opportunity to represent the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy at this top international competition and to gain vital hands-on experience. In particular, credit should be given to Myroslava Savchuk for achieving professional success. The participant of the previous year’s competition is now an associate of International Arbitration, Energy and Natural Resources Practice Group at Vasil Kisil & Partners.
