Vasil Kisil & Partners - general partner and sponsor of the 6th International Debate Tournament "Kyiv Spring 2008"

On May 2-4, 2008, the University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy hosted the 6th Annual International Debate Tournament "Kyiv Spring 2008". The 2008 debate tournament was sponsored by Vasil Kisil & Partners.

This year, the debate tournament brought together 52 student teams from 13 European countries. The winners were separately selected from the participating teams of Ukrainian-speaking and English-speaking leagues.

Oleksandr Mamunya, an associate with Vasil Kisil & Partners, was among the adjudicators of Ukrainian language debates.

The International Debate Tournament "Kyiv Spring 2008" is traditionally held in the format of British Parliamentary Debates where one of the parties introduces its arguments for a certain case, while the opposing party opposes to it thereby creating a political simulator of parliamentary discussions. The British Parliamentary Debate format is a worldwide format used at international tournaments such as World Universities Debating Championship (WUDC or "Worlds") and European Universities Debating Championship (EUDC or "Euro"). The tournament enabled the students to discuss hot issues, both in Ukraine and across the world, including reprivatization, direct investments into the national economy, reasons for changes in the tax law and in the Constitution, etc.

In its social policy, Vasil Kisil & Partners gives priority to the support of social projects designed to develop the democratic society and contribute to the development of young talents.
