‘Defense’ as pro bono legal assistance to military personnel and their family members

Since February 2022, Vasil Kisil & Partners’ lawyers have been contributing to the best of their abilities to bring our Victory closer. Among other things, we have been providing pro bono legal assistance to military personnel and their family members.
The military sought our legal advice on a wide range of issues such as: what procedures have to be followed in case of injury, how to get the status of a combatant, how to get the status of a disabled person, how to apply for a military vacation leave or how to leave military service, etc. Having summarized the most frequent questions and having prepared answers to them, Vasil Kisil & Partners launched a separate line of work: ‘Defense’ as Pro Bono Legal Assistance to Military Personnel and Their Family Members.
Our key operating principles within this pro bono work area are as follows:
· we help active-duty military personnel and their family members;
· this work is free for military personnel and their family members;
· we do not advise individuals on issues related to their reluctance to join the military.
We have already prepared a series of detailed instructions with step-by-step explanations in the field of military law and we continue this work and will keep working in this area even after Ukraine’s victory over the enemy.
