Meeting with Vasily Reguretsky, Deputy Head of the State Tax Administration of Ukraine

On December 22, 2008, the American Chamber of Commerce hosted a meeting with Vasily Reguretsky, Deputy Head of the State Tax Administration of Ukraine, at the Premier Palace hotel. Vasil Kisil & Partners Law Firm was represented by Vladislava Motrenko, an associate of the Corporate Law department.
The Deputy Head told the attendees about the main developments in tax administration, meeting the tax targets and priority tasks of the State Tax Administration of Ukraine in 2009. In particular, the attendees learned about the plans to introduce a real estate tax and raise excise tax rates, as well as about other fiscal initiatives. The meeting also broached the problems in application of the Convention between Ukraine and the Kingdom of the Netherlands for the Avoidance of Double Taxation. Vasily Reguretsky said that the State Tax Administration of Ukraine is engaged in active negotiations with its Dutch colleagues over the issue and after finishing negotiations a new tax clarification will be produced.
