Nataliya Mykolska describes international trade protection measures for national commodity producers under the WTO rules and the Ukrainian legislation at the Food Industry Forum`08

On October 29, 2008, the annual “The directions of food retail market development” conference within the bounds of the World Food Ukraine – 2008 exhibition took place in Kyiv.

This year the forum focused on state of the production market and food retail market in Ukraine, on main tendencies in their development, the analysis of Ukraine’s ascension into WTO consequences, state regulation, as well as on the new perspectives of working under the new conditions created by world financial crisis.

Vasil Kisil & Partners’ Senior Associate Nataliya Mykolska who has significant experience in international trade and client representation in trade investigations was invited to speak on the topic of international trade protection measures for national producers under the WTO rules and Ukrainian legislation.

In her presentation, Mrs. Mykolska gave a detail description of goals and methods of national commodity producer protection allowed by the WTO. Nataliya also gave special attention to the rules of initiating and conducting trade investigations, and to applying special measures as a result of such investigation under the legislation of Ukraine. The material presented by Mrs. Mykolska sparked a lot of interest from the participants of the event.
