On December 9, 2008, the Yuridicheskaya Praktika newspaper announced the results of an independent legal market survey. The goal of the survey was to identify the best law firms of Ukraine based on a number of criteria, such as revenue, number of corporate lawyers, efficiency, reputation etc.
According to the results of the 12th annual “Top 50 Law Firms in Ukraine 2008” research, Vasil Kisil & Partners Law Firm ranks at the top of the list.
Vasil Kisil & Partners also occupies the very top position in the rating of recognition among big-name companies, which is based on the results of poll conducted among law firms.
The rating of Yuridicheskaya Praktika included a survey of the biggest transactions in various areas of law practice. For example, at the top of the list of antitrust transactions is the acquisition of Electronic Data Systems Corporation by Hewlett-Packard Company that was supported by Vasil Kisil & Partners which facilitated the obtaining of a clearance from the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine.
Talking about his stance on ratings, Vasil Kisil, Senior Partner of the Firm, noted: “In the early 90’s I was rather skeptical about ratings. However, after a while I came to understand that they are a rather effective tool for law firms to gain media attention. Today ratings are a perfect newsworthy opportunity to discuss the developments in our professional field.”
