Vis Pre-Moot Held for the Second Time in Ukraine

Ukrainian rounds of the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot were organized on 18 March 2017 for the second time by Vasil Kisil & Partners with the support of the ICAC at the Ukrainian CCI.

Five teams from leading educational institutions of Ukraine and Turkey, such as Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, Taras Shevchenko National University, Institute of International Relations of the Taras Shevchenko National University and Atilim University (Turkey), participated in the competition.

The participants received practical advice from renowned Ukrainian and international arbitrators from Germany, Switzerland, USA, UK, Finland and Poland.

Based on results of the competition, the team of the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy won and was named the “Best Team”, while Olha Martynevych, student of the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, was awarded the “Best Speaker” honor.

The Vis Moot is aimed at promoting professional training of law students in international commercial law and arbitration. Participating in the Ukrainian Vis Pre-Moot, students from various countries and universities were afforded an opportunity to present their arguments before the leading legal practitioners and receive valuable advice for their further participation in the Vis Moot rounds. Vasil Kisil & Partners are honored and pleased to join the community of the Vis Moot events being held this year in over 100 countries and with more than 300 participating teams.
